City of Madison to Host Public Discussion on The City’s Response to Recent Protests and Williamson & Baldwin St. Reopening

The City of Madison Common Council will host a virtual discussion regarding the City's response to recent protests and the subsequent reopening of Williamson and Baldwin Streets. This virtual discussion is scheduled for Monday, August 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Representatives from the following City agencies have been invited to answer questions from Alders: Office of the City Attorney, the Mayor's Office, the Public Works Department, the Community Development Division, the Finance Department, the Madison Police Department, Public Health Madison & Dane County, the Madison Fire Department, and the Office of the Independent Police Monitor. 

Please note that this discussion is a briefing and not a formal Common Council meeting. No formal actions, votes, or introduction of legislation will occur during this discussion, and public testimony will not be taken. Members of the public are encouraged to send their questions and comments to allalders@cityofmadison.com.
