Results Madison
Results Madison is a citywide initiative to align services with the outcomes that matter most to residents. A core goal of Results Madison is to support data-informed decision-making and outcome-based budgeting. Through this initiative, city operations and agency data will be more transparent and accessible to policy makers and the public.
Results Madison Dashboard for the 2027 Budget
The City has been implementing Results Madison in phases. As part of this initiative, all City agencies will complete a "data engagement" to identify indicators that quantify services they provide. For the 2027 budget, agencies that had completed the data engagement by the request deadline (July 2026) included service indicators as part of their budget submission. All other agencies are in the process of finishing their engagements and are expected to present indicators for the 2028 budget.
The following dashboard presents a subset of indicators by agency. Indicators were selected based on what staff identified as being useful to members of the public to understand City services. These indicators include input measures that reflect work effort, outputs or outcomes of services, and other activities performed. Data is available through 2025, which is the most recent year of complete data collection.

Tip: select the "Expand" button (double arrow icon) located at the bottom right corner of the dashboard to view in full screen mode.
- Select an Agency: The dashboard shows the 15 agencies that have completed the data engagement. All other agencies are in the process of completing the engagement and will be included in a future dashboard.
- Select a Service: Services are based on the budget service structure. Because the dashboard only represents a subset of indicators, the service list may not include all agency services.
- Select an Indicator: Indicators are grouped by category. Click on the category to expand the list and select and specific indicator.
