Firefighters Respond to Smoldering Stovetop on West Side

The Madison Fire Department was called to a possible kitchen fire. Crews arrived to find a stovetop burner with smoldering material on it. They removed the burner from the stove and placed it into the sink to run water over it. The residence was ventilated before firefighters cleared the scene.
