Oven A Total Loss After Cutting Board Catches Fire In Broiler Drawer

Firefighters were called to a home on the 1900 block of Fisher Street for a fire underneath the oven.
 
There were no flames visible when Ladder Company 6 arrived, but they did see an orange glow coming from the bottom drawer of the stove. Inside the drawer, they discovered a wooden cutting board on fire. Firefighters extinguished the small fire, but the oven was a total loss as a result of the fire.

There was no other damage to the nearby refrigerator, cabinets, or wall. The oven was taken outside with the owner’s permission.
