Two-Vehicle Crash Ties Up East Washington Intersection; One Taken To Hospital

One person was transported to the hospital, and a second was advised to seek medical evaluation, following a crash at the intersection of East Washington Ave. and First Street Tuesday afternoon.

Engine Company 3 was passing through the area when they witnessed the T-bone crash involving one vehicle attempting to turn south onto First Street as another struck its passenger side traveling eastbound on E. Washington.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was transported by Medic 3 to a local ER with injuries that are not life-threatening. The other driver was evaluated by paramedics and did not require emergency transport to the hospital. Paramedics still advised her to see her doctor or stop in to urgent care for a thorough medical evaluation.

Engine Company 3 remained on scene to assist MPD with traffic control until a tow truck arrived to clear the intersection.
