43.098488, -89.27342
Incident Details
A fire at an east side residence was traced to hot charcoal that had been discarded too close to other items. Firefighters responded to the 100 block of Galileo Drive following a 911 call reporting a fire in front of a house. Crews arrived to find a neighbor spraying the fire down with a garden hose. Engine Co. 13 took over and put the fire out.
Engine 13 and Ladder 8 searched for fire extension along the home siding and garage. The crews found hot charcoal from a small charcoal grill inside the garage. The coals ignited a nearby decorative wooden barrel, causing the fire to spread. Nobody was injured or displaced by the fire.
