Fire Damages Home Siding, Cause Of Fire Unknown

Ladder Co. 6 and other Madison Fire Department crews responded to the 3000 block of Artesian Lane for a fire reported on the back side of a house. Upon arrival, firefighters located evidence of a fire but the fire was largely out. Ladder 6’s crew approached the building and found fully melted City-issued trash and recycling bins. The bins and the side of the home were still smoldering, so firefighters applied more water to cool down the area. Firefighters checked to make sure the fire did not spread into the house.

The occupants of the home say they’re unsure what could have caused the fire. The MFD’s Fire Investigation Team responded to investigate but also could not determine the cause of the fire. Damage is estimated at $40,000-$60,000, but the family was not displaced by the fire.
