MFD HURT, EMS Respond To East Side Business Following Vehicle Crash

The Madison Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of Williamson Street where a building sustained significant damage as a result of a motor vehicle crash.

Engine Co. 3 arrived to find the single vehicle resting near the building which is occupied by a local business. The MFD Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT) and City of Madison Building Inspection were asked to respond. The HURT shored up the structure to ensure its stability until definitive repairs can be made. Building Inspection found no other imminent hazards.

Paramedics began to treat the driver for injuries and for a medical event that reportedly preceded the crash, but the patient refused to be transported to the hospital. Madison Police remained on scene to oversee the crash investigation.
