Snow Emergency Continues, Xmas Tree Removal

posted

Hi Everyone.

Snow Emergency Declared

By now, hopefully you're aware that the City declared a Snow Emergency last evening, The Snow Emergency declared for last night continues today and into this evening, Wednesday, December 29. Everyone in D13 is in the Snow Emergency Zone, so if you wish to avoid a citation, please pay heed. If you can remove your vehicle from the street, do so, as this will help city staff plow all the way to the curb, maintaining the full width of our streets as the winter progresses.

Parking on the Street Tonight (Wednesday, 12/29/21 into the early morning of Thursday, 12/30/21): Vehicles parked tonight (the evening of December 29 into early morning of December 30) should be on the EVEN house-numbered side of the street between the hours of 1am and 7am.

Christmas Tree Pickup Info

There will be two windows of opportunity to have your Xmas tree picked up, Jan 3 – 14, and Jan. 18 – 28. Click here for details as to when to put out your tree, as well as drop-off options if you so choose.

Lastly...

A friendly reminder to be diligent in removing snow and ice from your sidewalk and steps. You may want to refer to my post from two weeks ago where I listed places to get sand, reminders about sensible and pet-friendly salt application, and a friendly warning to be cautious so as to not slip and fall as I did on Dec 11, requiring surgery for a badly-broken ankle.

A special thanks to friends and neighbors who have dropped off food, walked my dog Bella, and helped with basic chores around the house. I am humbled by your kindness.

Take care, stay safe, and best wishes as we wind up this challenging year.
