COVID-19 Update: More Masks Needed, Goodman Pool Opens, Absentee Voting

posted

Hi Everyone,

Masks

Yesterday, I dropped off 40 more masks for vulnerable residents at the Triangle and at Romnes. The mandatory mask order, which started on Monday, requires all residents using the commons areas at these facilities to wear masks. In addition, new residents moving in due to turnover may need masks as well.

So I'm putting out the request to the D13 Mask Brigade to sew some more masks. As we all know, this is going to be with us for awhile. Providing masks to our neighbors in need is a good way of building community, which is vitally important in times like these.

If you can help, please send me an email at district13@cityofmadison.com.

Goodman Pool is Open!

Goodman Pool

Madison’s only public swimming pool is open for the summer! There are many safety precautions in place to make an outing to the pool safe for everyone. Here are the steps to take before visiting Goodman to protect yourself and the people around you:

POOL CHECKLIST:

? REVIEW Rules & Expectations
? SUIT ON - lockers and changing rooms are closed.
? MASK ON – a face-covering is required when in line to enter and anytime moving around outside the water.
? POOL PLAY PASS OR WALLET READY - two lines, follow queues.
? CHAIR - no deck chairs this year, bring your own chair
? WATER BOTTLE - touch-free refill stations

NEW THIS YEAR: Recreation swim only is available in three 2-hour sessions with a limited capacity and as weather allows.  Near the end of each session, guess should gather all personal belongings and promptly exit the pool. These 30-minute closure windows allow time for staff to sanitize and clean the pool areas while helping us maintain capacity limits. Each session is a separate paid entry. See Hours & Prices for more information.
