Police training exercises at Spring Harbor Middle School

The following information is from the UW Police Department:

The UW Madison Police Department will be conducting a series of trainings at Spring Harbor Middle School on the following dates:

July 29, July 31, Aug. 5, Aug. 7

This training will be held from approximately 12:30 PM until 6:00 PM each session.

The training focuses on active shooter events and police officers will be training using training weapons and other very realistic equipment. This training is conducted with multiple people involved and can appear very real. Safety signs and other indicators will be posted near the training area to warn building users and nearby residents of the training in progress. 

The UW Madison Police asks building users and neighbors to be aware of the training for their safety and peace of mind.  During the training sessions, please do not enter the training area without direction and guidance from the safety coaches on scene.  If you need to access the training areas, UW Police will make sure that it is safe for you to do so.
