Owen Park drainage channel rehab -- public meetings
postedCity Engineering is holding a public meeting to discuss a proposed project to stabilize the stormwater drainage channel in Owen Park.
The project would consist of reshaping and armoring the primary drainage channel (near the Inner Drive park entrance) as well as a secondary channel that serves as the outlet to the retention ponds (map).
As part of the project, access roads would be built resulting in tree removal. (Some trees that are in poor health but not directly affected by the construction would also be removed.)
There will be an informational meeting Wednesday, June 19 at 6:30 in the library of Glenn Stephens School.
There will also be a park walk-through on Saturday, June 22 at 9:00 at the Inner Drive entrance.
You may attend either or both events. Or feel free to walk thorough the area on your own; trees which would be removed will be marked with ribbons by Tuesday, June 18.
Questions or comments may be directed to me or to the project engineer, Sally Swenson, 608-266-4862 or sswenson@cityofmadison.com.
