Improvements at Galaxy Park are substantially complete. The new basketball court and porch swing have been installed. The solar light has arrived at the Parks office and crews are working to get it installed by mid October. Once the light is in place, all work will be complete on this project.

Background
Madison Parks is planning to make improvements to Galaxy Park in 2025!
Galaxy Park is a mini park located on Madison's east side. The park currently offers a playground and sun shelter. In 2025 Parks plans to add a basketball court, porch swing, and area light. The plan below shows the proposed layout of the court and swing.
Construction is expected to begin in May and the court and swing are expected to be complete by the end of June. The area light is expected to be added in fall 2025.

Project Updates
October 2, 2025 Update
Improvements at Galaxy Park are substantially complete. The new basketball court and porch swing have been installed. The solar light has arrived at the Parks office and crews are working to get it installed by mid October. Once the light is in place, all work will be complete on this project.
April 29, 2025 Update
Work is underway to construct the new basketball court. The court is anticipated to be completed in May.
Due to product lead times, the solar light will not be ready for installation until September.
