One Taken to Hospital, Vehicle Fire Under Investigation

Madison Fire was dispatched to the intersection of Forward Drive & Schroeder Road for a vehicle fire. A passersby rescued the driver from the vehicle, found fire on the person, and put out the flames. 

The vehicle was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene. Ladder Co. 7 addressed the vehicle fire as Medic 7 took over patient care of the driver. The driver was treated on the scene and has been transported to a local hospital. 

The cause of the vehicle fire is under investigation. The Madison Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Team is responding to the scene.

Traffic in this area may be blocked off during the investigation. Consider alternate routes if passing through the area.
