
Electrical Fire Causes $150,000 in Damage to 2-flat Home

Incident Details
At 4:40am early morning on May 26th, an occupant at 1311 Chandler Street called 911 after hearing smoke alarms and noticed smoke in an upstairs office.
The person, along with several others, safely evacuated the 2-flat apartment building.
When firefighters arrived, they saw flames between the front doors. The fire spread through the interstitial space to the second-floor bedroom.
Fire crews opened up the walls in order to reach the fire. The fire was extinguished using a pre-connect line and a water can.
Damage estimated at $150,000. No injuries were reported.
A total of five people were displaced as a result of the fire. Not everyone was home when the fire occurred. Red Cross is available for the residence.
