Brush & Yard Waste
Brush vs. Yard Waste
Separate yard waste and leaves from brush.
Yard waste and brush are separate collections. They are picked up by separate crews. They are processed in different ways at different locations.
We will not collect mixed piles.
Brush
Brush is sticks, branches, and tree limbs you cut from trees, shrubs, or bushes.
Brush must be:
- Between 18 inches and 8 feet long
- Less than 8 inches in diameter
Brush is ground up into wood mulch after we pick it up.
Yard Waste
Yard waste is plant material you rake or pull from your lawn or garden:
- Leaves, weeds, grass clippings, and garden trimmings
- Twigs less than 18 inches long
- Pumpkins, crab apples, vines, corn stalks, and pinecones
Yard waste is taken to a facility to be turned into compost.
