Fire Contained to One Unit at Storage Facility; Cause of Fire Under Investigation

Firefighters responded to a storage facility at 1909 Aberg Avenue. Bystanders flagged down firefighters and directed them to a specific unit where black/brown smoke was emitting from the top of the roll-up door. 

Ladder 8 stretched a hose line and forced entry into the unit. Engine 3 assisted with cutting off the door so firefighters could have better access to the fire.

Once the fire was knocked down, Ladder 8, Engine 3, and Engine 10 worked to confirm there was no fire extension to adjacent storage units. 

Firefighters continued to cool down the contents of the storage unit where the fire occurred. The MFD Fire Investigation Team responded to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
