Incident Details
Fire/EMS crews responded to I-90 westbound near mile marker 136.8 in the Town of Burke for a RV trailer rollover with one person pinned inside.
Upon arrival, Ladder 8 found an RV trailer on its side with the tow vehicle still attached and sitting upright. Occupants of the tow vehicle report swerving to avoid a crash with another vehicle, which caused the trailer to become unstable. Both the trailer and tow vehicle turned on their side, but the vehicle returned upright prior to MFD arrival.
The driver of the vehicle was out the vehicle, but a passenger in the front seat could not exit because the door would not open. As Medic 8 evaluated the driver, Ladder 8 used spreaders to open the passenger door and allow the passenger out. Paramedics evaluated the passenger, who suffered minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
A second, rear-end vehicle crash occurred while fire/EMS crews were on scene. Medic 8 and Ladder 8 evaluated both drivers involved in the second crash. One reported minor discomfort but did not want to be taken to the hospital.
Ladder 8 and Engine 8 remained on scene until a tow truck arrived to right the RV trailer and remove it from the highway. Wisconsin State Patrol remained on scene as MFD cleared from the call.
