Trash & Recycling Collection

Check your collection calendar to see how the holiday schedule affects your trash and recycling pickup.

Download your calendar from the Streets Division’s website.

A calendar can also be mailed to your home by contacting the Streets Division offices.

How this Memorial Day will Work

Madison residents who normally have their trash and recycling collected on Mondays by the Streets Division should instead place their scheduled cart(s) to the curb for pickup by 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Trash and recycling pickup for residents that have a regularly scheduled Tuesday collection day will also have their carts emptied on Tuesday, May 28.

Residents who set out carts after 6:30 a.m. may miss their collection opportunity and will need to wait until the next scheduled pickup day to have their carts emptied.

Drop-off Sites

The Streets Division drop-off sites will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2025 in observance of the holiday.  They will reopen during their posted hours on Tuesday, May 27.

Check the drop-off site webpage for their hours, locations, and rules.

On the page, you can use the online Recyclopedia to find out if the items you have can be taken to the drop-off site.

Large Item Collection

Streets Division’s large item collection will not occur on the Memorial Day holiday.

Crews will begin collecting scheduled large items on Tuesday, May 27.
