Nakoma Road Sidewalk Project & Shawnee Pass Construction

Nakoma Road will be open to inbound traffic only starting Monday, June 30th due to sidewalk construction on the outbound side of Nakoma Road. Nakoma is estimated to reopen mid-September.
The project will install a sidewalk on the south side of Nakoma Road, closing a gap in the pedestrian network. This will involve bumping out the curb and removing most parking spots on the south side of Nakoma Road. There is no sanitary or water work anticipated, but storm sewer work will be necessary.
Additionally, Manitou Way will be closed for sanitary work alongside the Nakoma sidewalk project.
Important Details:
- Metro buses will be detoured to Cherokee Drive for Phase 1
- Later this summer, a box culvert will be replaced across Nakoma Road and Cherokee Drive, and traffic control will be altered
- Expect traffic control changes and added phases
- Nakoma is estimated to reopen mid-September
