Vehicle Fire Extinguished on Westbound Beltline

Ladder 2 responded to the westbound Beltline highway Tuesday afternoon for a vehicle fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a gold Porsche with fuel leaking from the undercarriage, and the fuel was igniting. Ladder 2 stretched a hose line and began extinguishing the fire. 

With the vehicle console’s electrical wiring igniting the gasoline, and Ladder 2 running low on water and foam, firefighters turned to their carbon dioxide extinguisher to knock down the electrical fire. 

Engine 7 responded to the scene to provide additional water to Ladder 2. Ladder 2 finished cooling down the vehicle using the additional water. 

A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle from the highway as law enforcement provided traffic control.
