Unattended Pot of Baked Beans Sends Firefighters to Badger Road Apartment

Firefighters responded to a residence on W. Badger Road for reports of alarms sounding and visible smoke coming from underneath an apartment door. 

Medic 6 and Engine 6 entered the unit to find smoke banked from the ceiling to the floor and a pot of burned baked beans on the stove top. Firefighters removed the pot of beans from the apartment and searched the unit for occupants, finding nobody home. 

Windows were opened and a fan was set up to push smoke out of the apartment. After smoke was cleared, Engine 6 and Medic 6 secured the apartment unit and departed.
