Street Closures for Madison Marathon

posted

Several streets in and around downtown will be closed for the Madison Marathon races on Sunday, November 9th. The races all begin on the Capitol Square with the full marathon course taking runners through the UW Arboretum, Vilas Park, around Lake Monona, and back to the Capitol Square.

The races all begin at 7:00am with the last runner finishing by 1:30pm. Police officers will be located throughout the course to assist with traffic. Streets will reopen following the last runner at each street closure location along the race route.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead if traveling around the race route as crossing the route will only be permitted when there are sufficient gaps in the runners.
