Bird & Nature Adventures | Warner Park
Event Description
Winter Solstice Walk ~ Join Naturalists Kathlean Wolf and Robin Kling for a fun free family and kid friendly walk on easy paths along Warner Pond Lagoon and through Warner Woods to the top of Sled Hill. Enjoy the shortest day of the year outdoors and help celebrate the return of the sun and longer days! Learn how ancient cultures celebrated the Solstice. What changes do shorter and longer days trigger in nature? What birds, animals and tracks do you see out and about even on the shortest days of the year? Dress warm. We may have a campfire with hot chocolate and smores after the walk.
Meeting Location: Rainbow Shelter by Warner Pond Lagoon, 2930 N. Sherman Ave.
Walks at Warner Park held on the 3rd Sunday of every month are co-sponsored by Madison Bird City FUN partners Wild Warner. Typically meet at the "rainbow" Warner Park shelter by the lagoon, unless noted otherwise. Parking is available nearby. Free, welcoming, healthy, fairly accessible, family and kid friendly, educational, no registration required, no pets.
