Earth Week Creek Cleanup ~ Join Lance Green and Friends of Starkweather Creek to help pick up trash in and along the beautiful Starkweather Creek greenway that winds through the east side of Madison from Lake Monona all the way to MATC and East Town!  Join Friends of Starkweather Creek to help with cleanups by canoe and on foot.  Some canoes, vests and paddles will be provided or bring your own if you have them or join walking cleanups along the creek.   See Friends of Starkweather Creek on Facebook for walk, bike and paddle maps and more info.  Post pictures showing how much trash you collected!  Join the Friends to help support and preserve this amazing urban creek greenway and bike path corridor. 

Outings in the Starkweather Creek area vary each month - be sure to check the starting location. Adventures typically at 10:00am on the 3rd Saturday of the month, year-round, and frequently start at the Goodman Community Center, unless noted otherwise. Outings include nature walks, canoe/kayak adventures, bicycling tours, and more, and are sponsored by the Madison Friends of Urban Nature, Goodman Community Center, and the Friends of Starkweather Creek. Free, welcoming, healthy, fairly accessable, family and kid friendly, educational, no registration required, no pets.  Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
