Bird & Nature Adventures | Edna Taylor
Event Description
Amazing Turkeys ~ Join Naturalist Paul Noeldner for a free family friendly guided walk on winding nature trails to look for Wild Turkeys! What do turkeys eat for Thanksgiving dinner? Did you know they can change colors like a chameleon? Why did Ben Franklin reportedly suggest Wild Turkeys should be our national bird instead of the Bald Eagle? Help look for large 3-toed tracks, a big brown feather, and foraging flocks strutting about. Did you know many people enjoy tofu turkey and a vegetarian diet to be kind to animals and help reduce huge climate and environmental impacts of traditional meat based diets. What other birds and wildlife are you thankful to have in your world? What do you think they are thankful for at this time of year?
Join a naturalist for an easy, family-friendly walk from Aldo Leopold Nature Center into beautiful Edna Taylor Conservation Park and enjoy a bit of nature education along the way. Walks through the Edna Taylor Conservation Park are held on the 4th Saturday, 10-11:30am of each month
The walk meets in the parking lot at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, 330 Femrite Drive. Free, welcoming, healthy, fairly accessible, family and kid friendly, educational, no registration required, no pets. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
