Woods Farm Park Development Plan
September 18, 2025 Update
The City of Madison Parks Division conducted the first public engagement meeting for Woods Farm Park and Canter Park on September 4th. Following this meeting, there was also a survey to seek more detailed community input. The survey is now closed here are some of the things we learned:
- Managed meadow and preservation of the natural ecology is a top priority
- Amenities and sports courts are more desirable than recreation fields
- Community members appreciate park features that cater to a wide range of age groups
- There is concern over the proximity of sports courts to homes and the nearby roads
- Pickleball and tennis remain highly desirable amenities
- There is interest in nature play in parks rather than traditional playgrounds
- A community garden is not currently a priority
Next steps:
New concepts are being drawn up following this feedback. To further contribute to these park concepts, please attend our last public engagement meeting on October 29th, 2025: Registration link
