Update

MPD's Violent Crime Unit arrested a 19-year-old woman yesterday afternoon in connection with this shooting.  The investigation revealed a 22-year-old woman was shot after an altercation that occurred in a vehicle on the street. 

Siara Q. Williams turned herself in to police yesterday and was taken to the Dane County Jail, tentatively charged with 1st degree attempted homicide.

A second person was taken into custody in connection to this incident.  Steven L. Price Jr, age 24, was located and arrested Tuesday night during a traffic stop in the 300 block of Island Dr.  Price was taken to the Dane County Jail and tentatively charged with felony bail jumping and party to a crime 1st degree attempted homicide.

All parties are known to each other and the investigation is continuing.

Details

The Madison Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon in the 1200 block of Gilbert Rd.  Multiple callers reported hearing gunshots in the area.  Officers are on scene and a victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  This remains an active and ongoing investigation led by MPD's Violent Crime Unit.
