City of Madison Logo

The City of Madison has discontinued its wood mulch program. Free wood mulch is no longer available at park locations. NOTE: The Parks Division is currently placing wood chips in the parking lot at Warner Park. There chips are under quarantine due to the emerald ash borer infestation. THESE CHIPS ARE NOT FOR PUBLIC USE AND CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE.

You can purchase wood mulch at the City's brush processing center at 121 E. Olin Avenue.

The brush processing center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Closed weekends and City holidays.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection has certified our brush processing site for safe shredding of ash trees. This means that mulch coming from our site will be free of the emerald ash borer. You can be assured that our mulch will not transmit the emerald ash borer to your property and our mulch can be moved anywhere in the State of Wisconsin.
