Park Edge/Park Ridge Neighborhood Employment Center

The City purchased the forner Griff's Restaurant near Elver Prk on McKenna Blvd. to be renovated for an adult and youth oriented employment services center.  The City and the center's operator, the Urban League of Greater Madison (ULGM) collaborated to collect information from neighborhood residents on desired training and programs to be offered and in the building design.  At just under 4,000 square feet, the building will feature a dividable meeting room, attached kitchen, computer lab, independent computer stations, training space, staff and restrooms.  The exterior siding and roofing materials will be replaced. The Urban League has been operating since May out of their temporary office location at 658 S. Gammon Road, Suite 204.

High Point-Raymond Neighborhood Development Plan

The High Point-Raymond Neighborhood Development Plan update will formally be introduced to the Madison City Council on June 20.  At this meeting, the Council will not discuss the content of the plan, but will determine which boards, commissions and committees provide advisory recommendations prior to Council's review and discussion of the draft.  Historically, the Council has referred neighborhood development plans to Long Range Transportation Planning Committee (LRTPC), the Board of Park Commissioners (BOPC) and Plan Commission.

The draft plan maps and text can be found at the links below and are also posted on the project website.
