Public Information Meetings & Sessions

  • Midpoint Meadows Neighborhood Meeting: A virtual meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 6:30 PM to discuss the implementation of the neighborhood and address any questions regarding the overall phasing/construction plans. You can join the meeting using your computer, smartphone, or tablet, or you can listen in via telephone. You will receive login information after registering at www.cityofmadison.com/MeetingMarch12Midpoint.
  • Draft West Area Plan Meeting: A draft West Area Plan is available for review!  Please review and comment on draft maps and actions here by March 20th or provide feedback at the following scheduled public meeting:

    • Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 6:00 PM (in-person at Vel Phillips Memorial High School, 201 S. Gammon Rd., Wisconsin Neighborhood Center). You don't need to register; please enter through the main doors facing Mineral Point Road.

All three meetings will cover the same content. A full PDF of the draft plan text and maps, including chapter introductions and appendices, is available on the project website.

  • Metro Public Hearing—Fare Updates: Transit and the City of Madison Transportation Commission will hold a virtual public hearing on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 6:00 PM to discuss fare updates related to new fare technology being installed this summer.

Boards, Commissions, and Committee Meetings

  • Finance Committee: The Finance Committee meeting will take place in virtual format on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 4:30 PM. Agenda items include adopting the City of Madison’s required 2024 Annual Action Plan and approving submission of the Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, expanding the Pathways to Recovery Madison and Dane County's Madison Area Addiction Resource Initiative, Addiction Resource Team, and Naloxone Plus programs, as well as financing the buildout of leased space located at 4649 Verona Road to be used as office and classroom space to serve the Allied neighborhood and greater Madison community with health and wellness education.
  • Plan Commission: The Plan Commission meeting will take place in virtual format on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 5:30 PM. Agenda items include amendments to Tax Incremental Financing Districts involving districts 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, as well as development-related requests involving districts 2, 4, 5, 9, 13, 14, 16, and 17.
  • Transportation Commission: The Transportation Commission meeting will take place in virtual format on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 5:00 PM. Agenda items include a public hearing regarding Metro Transit’s Fare Tariff Updates, followed by discussion, deliberation, and vote, as well as the 2023 Year-end Traffic Safety Report.
  • Board of Park Commissioners: The Board of Park Commissioners meeting will take place in virtual format on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 6:30 PM. Agenda items include an informational presentation by Parks staff of the proposed Park Development Plans for twenty-three neighborhood and mini parks in the West Planning Area, an informational presentation by Parks staff of the proposed Park Development Plans for seven neighborhood and mini parks in the Northeast Planning Area, and approving a request by Madison Mallards for additional fireworks displays for the 2024 Mallards Season at Warner Park Stadium.

Events

  • Transportation Options with MetroMetro employees will talk about different options for getting around the city, including buses, RoundTripBCycles, bikes, and more. They will spend time talking about paratransit, a shared ride service that uses a variety of companies and vehicles to respond to individual ride requests. Paratransit is an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) service for individuals with disabilities who cannot use Metro’s accessible fixed-route bus service.

  • Battle of the Badges - Saturday, March 16, 2024: It's time for another epic showdown on the ice between the MadCity Police hockey team and Madison Fire hockey time. This event benefits Safe Communities Madison-Dane County, a nonprofit coalition of over 350 organizations working together to save lives, prevent injury and make our community safer.

  • New Internship Program Aims to Diversify Workforce at Madison Fire: The Madison Fire Department announces a new internship program aimed at cultivating up-and-coming talent from communities historically underrepresented in the public safety workforce.
