Shake the Lake - Fireworks Festival

June 24, 2015 10:14 AM

Greetings,

Saturday marks the second year of a downtown fireworks event. This year, Festival Foods - Shake the Lake will take place on Saturday June 27th.  The Festival begins at 5pm with a variety of food, events and entertainment taking place, leading up to the 2015 fireworks at 10:00pm.

John Nolen Drive will be closed on Saturday beginning early in the morning. The closure will be from Broom Street to Williamson/Wilson Streets. The causeway will be open all day this year, so there should be few issues on people getting to the downtown area for this or the many other events taking place.

Vern Stenman of the Mallards and Shake the Lake asked me to share the final schedule for this Saturday's Shake the Lake event . You can find more information and maps at http://shakethelake.org/

MPD will be providing staffing at the event site and in the surrounding neighborhoods on this night. The horses will also be visiting the neighborhoods, so be sure to give a shout out to our mounted officers as wel..
