While winter officially begins December 21, please remember that Mother Nature decides when these outdoor winter sports can start, not the Parks Division! For the equipment to safely prepare the rinks for skating, staff needs two to four weeks of below-freezing temperatures. And in order to groom the ski trials, staff needs at least 4 inches of snow.
Feb. 9 - Elver, Vilas, Westmorland, Goodman and Tenney Park ice rinks will be open this evening.
Staff will be monitoring the weather conditions throughout the evening. Rinks may be closed early.
