Event Description

The City of Madison Clerk’s Office is proud to celebrate National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 16 with a week of events dedicated to ensuring every voter is prepared for the busy 2026 election cycle. In partnership with the Madison Public Library, UW–Madison, and the Urban League of Greater Madison, the Clerk’s Office will host voter registration drives, recruit poll workers, and answer voter questions at locations across the city. 

This event is also celebrating National Black Voter Day with Urban League of Greater Madison. 

Proof of address is required when registering to vote.
Accepted documents include:

  • Current Wisconsin driver license or ID card
  • Utility bill from the past 90 days
  • Bank or credit union statement
  • Pay stub or paycheck
  • Government-issued document or check
  • Residential lease (effective the day of registration, not accepted by mail)
  • Affidavit from a homeless service agency
  • Edgewood College fee statement with student ID
  • Intake document from a residential care facility
