Boards, Commissions, and Committee Meetings

  • Plan Commission: The Plan Commission meeting will take place on Monday, January 22, 2024, in virtual format at 5:30 PM. Agenda items include development related requests in Districts 2, 4, 6, 12, 14, 16, and 19, as well as authorizing the City of Madison Planning Division to submit an application to the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission to expand the Central Urban Service Area to include properties located in the Reiner and the High Point-Raymond Neighborhood Development Plan areas.
  • Common Council: The Common Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in a hybrid format at 6:30 PM. Agenda items include appointing and swearing in an alder to represent District 19, an honoring resolution celebrating Black History Month, and amending Madison General Ordinances related to Salaries of Officials to update salaries for alders.
  • Board of Public Works: The Board of Public Works meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in virtual format at 4:30 PM. Agenda items include updating the City’s policy for the assessment of sanitary sewer improvements to serve unsewered and sewered lands located within the current and future boundaries of the City of Madison, as well as approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for Country Grove Park Shelter and the 2024 Rennebohm Park East Tennis Courts.

All ages and experience levels are welcome. Grab your friends, a date, or the whole family, and come have some fun on the ice. 
  • Family Winter Prom - Saturday, January 27, 2024Celebrate the magic of winter at the Family Winter Prom! Join us for a night of frosty fun and create lasting memories with your loved ones. Enjoy music, dancing, crafts, and refreshments. Dress up and celebrate this special night!

  • Madison Forestry - Pruning Update: City Forestry crews will soon be pruning trees in the area highlighted in purple below. The objective is to prune every tree in the right-of-way that requires work within that area.

  • Spring Primary Media Kit Now Available: As the Tuesday, February 20, 2024, Spring Primary approaches, the Madison City Clerk's Office is releasing a media kit to provide accurate and timely information to the media and the public. The media kit includes essential details about the election, statistical information, and key dates. 
  • Next Passenger Rail Meetings for Madison Station Location: The City of Madison invites the community to join us and share your feedback at one of two upcoming public meetings to see the draft results of the corridor evaluation for passenger rail and learn more about several potential station sites under consideration.
  • Enjoy a FREE Weekend in Your Local Parks: Activity Permit Fees are Waived on January 20 and 21 in Dane County and City of Madison Parks. Madison Parks and Dane County Parks are offering a permit-free weekend on Saturday, January 20, 2024, and Sunday, January 21, 2024.
  • City of Madison Earns 2023 Leadership Circle Recognition with National Monarch Pledge: The City of Madison is proud to continue its dedication to the Monarch butterfly community and pollinator conservation in south central Wisconsin as a part of the National Wildlife Federation Mayors’ Monarch Pledge Team.
