New Development 1302 S Midvale Blvd - Update

Hello!

A quick update about this project:

  1. The item is not yet in Legistar
  2. The developer informed me that they had a meeting with staff, as a result of staff recommendations the development team decided to move the first Urban Design meeting to January.
    1. Urban Design meets the 10th and 24th
    2. I will share the meeting date as soon as it is available
  3. I am meeting with planning staff on Monday and will be discussing the questions received by community members.  
    1. This project is on its early stages, I have provided the information I have so far and will continue to share the information as I receive it.
  4. We are coordinating the first community meeting to also be in January, however I have asked the developer for a new date since I have committee meetings Jan 8, 9 & 10 (Plan Commission, Council and Parks)
    1. We should be able to share first meeting details next week

Hello! 

This project came to the DAT (Development Assistance Team) meeting this summer.  The DAT meeting is often the first stop for a developer to present their ideas.  DAT is made up of city staff from every agency, who provide feedback on all aspects of the project. 

This project is not yet in Legistar, but the developers shared a preview of their upcoming UDC’s presentation for me to share with you.  Full file:

Below is a summary of the project, including the location, the specifications, contact information and upcoming community engagement opportunities.

New Development Address: 1302 S Midvale Blvd. Madison, WI 53711

The proposed uses of the building are as follows: 

  • Approximately 9,500 SF First floor retail rented as one large tenant or subdivided into up to four smaller tenants with shared common space. 
  • 55 apartment units including Studios, 1 Bedrooms, and 2 Bedrooms.
  • Second floor and seventh floor amenity spaces including a fitness room, clubroom, and a rooftop patio space.
  • Parking: There will be 38 surface stalls and 43 secure underground parking spaces (81 total).
