FREE HOMEBUYER EDUCATION CLASS (IN PERSON) – SATURDAY, JANUARY 13TH

The City of Madison, in partnership with the Home Buyers Round Table of Dane County and Consumer Credit Counseling Service, want to share with you the next Homebuyer Education workshop! HBRT offers monthly homebuyer education classes. The schedule for 2024 classes is available now!

DESCRIPTION: Take the first step to owning a home, and join us in this Home Buyer Education Workshop. This FREE Homebuyer Education workshop takes place in-person at the Villager Mall on Park St, Atrium Entrance (2300 S Park St.) on Saturday, January 13 from 8:30am-3:30pm! Lunch will be provided. Our first time home buying workshops cover the following:

1. how to find the right home
2. how to apply for a mortgage
3. budget and credit improvement tips
4. how much you can afford
5. barriers that can prevent you from qualifying for a mortgage and
6. what down payment assistance may be available to you
7. hear directly from a lender, realtor, home inspector, and insurance agent

This class is provided by a HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agency and meets WHEDA and most down payment assistance programs homebuyer education and counseling requirements. Certificate of Completion is provided upon completion of class AND one-on-one counseling session with Consumer Credit Counseling Services. Verify with your Down Payment Assistance/Closing Costs program to make sure that completing this course (class with one-on-one counseling) fulfills their requirements.
