MPD - Summer Traffic Safety Initiative

posted

June 1 through September 1

Coordinated Enforcement and Visibility

Throughout the summer, Community Policing Teams (CPTs), in collaboration with the Traffic Enforcement Safety Team (TEST), will carry out weekly proactive traffic operations in each district, with a strong focus on speed enforcement. Patrol officers, Neighborhood Police Officers (NPOs), and Neighborhood Resource Officers (NROs) will join these efforts when possible.

Here are some things that you can expect from MPD team:

  • Officers to be more proactive in enforcing hazardous driving behaviors (i.e. speeding, signal/sign violations)

  • Application of the speed board throughout the district (major thoroughfares and intersections)

  • Increased traffic enforcement operations

  • Collaboration with other community partners, city agencies and personnel such as elected officials, metro and streets.
