Affordable Workforce Housing Neighborhood Meeting on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 6pm at University Park Commons (former Westgate Mall location near Hy-Vee)

Please join me at a neighborhood meeting with JT Klein, Inc. to learn more about new affordable workforce multi-family housing at University Park Commons (former Westgate Mall location) on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 6pm, in the Community Room at 601 Sand Pearl Lane.

JT Klein, Inc. (JTK) is proposing the development of University Park Commons II, a 68-unit housing development located within the larger University Park redevelopment project at 625 Sand Pearl Lane, currently a vacant lot next to University Park Commons I. The entire University Park redevelopment is located at the former Westgate Mall near Hy-vee grocery store at the corner of Whitney Way and Tokay Boulevard. JTK demolished Westgate Mall and completed the first phase of the University Park development in late 2022. University Park Commons II, phase two of the larger project, will be non-age restricted affordable workforce multi-family housing made up of a mixture of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. There will also be a discussion on a new proposed change to switch the zoning from a planned eight-story medical office building to 170 units of market rate apartments.
