
Meeting and Event Highlights for the Week of July 15, 2024

- Common Council: The Common Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 16, in hybrid format at 6:30 p.m. Agenda items include an appeal of the Plan Commission action on the conditional use request for 6610-6706 Old Sauk Road in District 19 and approving the Large Item Collection and Electronic Waste Recycling Policy.
- Personnel Board: The Personnel Board meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 17, in virtual format at 1:30 p.m. Agenda items include an update on the Compensation Study.
- Urban Design Commission: The Urban Design Commission meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 17, in virtual format at 4:30 p.m. Agenda items include an informational presentation on an application for a new multi-family building in District 12.
- Economic Development Committee: The Economic Development Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 17, in virtual format at 5:00 p.m. Agenda items include adopting the Sustainability Plan update, adopting the Northeast Area Plan, and adopting the West Area Plan.

Events in District 11
- The City of Madison Parks Division developed Movies with Madison Parks in harmony with the City's Neighborhood Resource Teams (NRTs). Sina Davis, from the Allied Drive Neighborhood, provided the spark and served as the main community driver behind the creation and development of the program. This popular program was named in her honor, just before her passing in July 2019.

- Movie in the Park at The Glen Golf Park on Sunday, July 21: Trolls Band Together (2023), PG 1h 31m
- Capitol City Band Concert in the Park: Thursday, July 18 from 7 – 8:15 pm Rennebohm Park at 115 N Eau Claire Ave. Old-fashioned free concerts in the park by the Capitol City Band with toe-tapping familiar music for all ages and all cultures. Bring a friend, bring your chairs; enjoy the music on a beautiful summer evening; rain or shine!
- Summer Nights at Segoe: Friday, July 19th The Midvale Heights Community Association sponsors four concerts, in Segoe Park, on Friday evenings from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Performing on July 19th will be The Cajun Strangers (Cajun and Zydeco dance music, featuring Midvale Heights's own Colin Bazsali on drums and banjo!)
- Live at The Glen: Vince Sweeney on Friday, July 19: Madison Parks Foundation is proud to present Live at The Glen! Enjoy live music on the patio at The Glen Golf Park. Vince Sweeney is a native Madisonian whose expansive song list spans decades. From Neil Young to The Beatles, from the Eagles to Dylan, Springsteen, Petty and many more, Sweeney strings together great cover songs that add up to an enjoyable evening of free live music.
- Opera in the Park 2024 Saturday, July 20 at 8pm (rain date: Sunday, July 21 at 8pm) FREE CONCERT at Garner Park, 333 S Rosa Rd. Park opens at 7am on the day of the concert. Blankets, tarps, and picnics are all welcome!
For over 20 years, Opera in the Park has been the epitome of Madison Opera’s place in our community. Garner Park comes alive with music and light sticks, as soloists share their favorite opera and musical theater numbers, along with the Madison Opera Chorus and Madison Symphony Orchestra. Opera in the Park 2024 stars soprano Katerina Burton, mezzo-soprano Emily Fons, tenor Joshua Sanders, and baritone Weston Hurt, along with the Madison Opera Chorus and the Madison Symphony Orchestra, all conducted by John DeMain. - 130 Years of Madison Parks Celebration at The Glen Golf Park on Sunday, July 21: Join us at The Glen Golf Park on July 21 from 2-4pm for the Madison Parks Foundation & Madison Parks 130 Years of Madison Parks Celebration. - Last day to establish residency for Fall Partisan Primary is Tuesday, July 16: Voters who move after today will not be eligible to vote from their new address in August because it takes 28 days to establish residency for voting purposes. They can remain registered at their previous address until after the Primary Election, and then should update their voter registration for the November General Election.
