The West Madison Good Neighbor Project, launched in 2021, will host its third annual National Night Out Picnic on Tuesday, August 5, at Westmorland Park, in collaboration with the Madison Police Department. This event is sponsored by the Midvale Heights Community Association and the Westmorland Neighborhood Association.

Event Details:
Tuesday, August 5, 2025
5:00–7:00 p.m.
Westmorland Park (4114 Tokay Blvd.)

This free, family-friendly event runs from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and features food, lawn games, live music by the Mad City Ukes (a ukulele band), and opportunities for casual conversation with neighbors and local police officers. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions about public safety, crime trends, or any concerns they may have about policing in the area.

Kids and adults alike will enjoy exploring a police squad car, watching a police drone demonstration, or meeting a police horse or K9—depending on availability.

National Night Out is a nationwide event held annually during the first week of August. It began in the 1980s to foster stronger relationships between police and the communities they serve, and to encourage neighborhood connection and cooperation. Each year, millions of neighbors across the U.S. participate in NNO events to help make their communities safer and more united.

Enjoy a free taco/nacho bar (while supplies last). Some picnic tables will be available, but attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs.

All are welcome—come connect with neighbors and enjoy a fun summer evening in the park!
