Environmental Internships & Volunteer Opportunities

Earth Week Tip #2

Looking for a volunteer position with an environmental organization?  Do you know of a student looking for an internship working on key environmental issues?

The Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies has an entire page of possibilities for you to check out.

Friends of Monona Bay sponsors a monthly shoreline clean-up.

Friends of Lake Wingra has many suggestions as to how you can help protect this local jewel.

The Arbortetum is always looking for volunteers.

Check in with your neighborhood association.  For example, Dudgeon-Monroe Neighborhood Assn is looking for volunteers to help with Parks & Gardens and the SW Bike-Pedestrian Path.

Friends of Olin-Turville Park could use your help as they work to build community engagement and awareness for this often-overlooked urban gem.

There's a lot we can do to protect the earth right here in District 13!

(Let me know if I left out your favorite organization and I'll add it to this post.)
