The good folks of Greenbush have generated a third survey aimed at gleaning your thoughts regarding possible new features for the Park.  If you frequent Vilas Park, please take a moment to respond.  No worries if you don't live next to the Park.  If you love Vilas Park and hope that the planning process yields a favorable outcome leading to positive improvements, then please take a moment to fill out the short survey linked here.

UW women's hockey team meet & greet

Madison Parks in partnership with the Wisconsin athletic department is hosting a meet and greet with the Wisconsin women's hockey team from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Vilas Park. Fans are invited to meet the team and Bucky Badger and receive autographs from the Wisconsin women's hockey team inside the warming shelter at the Vilas Park Ice Rink.  Posters and hot chocolate provided while supplies last. Admission is free and all ages are welcome to attend.

Vilas Park shelter is a Winter Clothing Drive drop off site January 10 - 26, 2020.

The event, which was originally set to be an outdoor skate, was changed to a meet and greet due to ice conditions at Vilas Park. The ice rinks and lagoon remain closed. 

5k / 10k Run to Benefit OPEN DOORS FOR REFUGEES

5K / 10K run on March 7th to benefit Open Doors for Refugees. The Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Madison sponsors the race. All proceeds from the race go to ODFR.

Lastly, a word about sidewalks

A reminder to keep sidewalks safe for walking. My personal preference is to use sand.  The City of Madison provides free sand, which you can find out about by clicking on the link here.  Along those same lines. Friends of Lake Wingra will be hosting a cleverly-worded event called "I'm Un-Salted" on January 30th, 7pm at Sequoia Library. For more information,  please click here.
