TOD Overlay, Pollinator Garden Planning - D15 Update 1/17/23
postedTransit Oriented Development Overlay
On Tuesday, the Common Council will hold its second meeting of 2023. You can find a link to the agenda and to register to speak on any item here. One item of potential interest to D15 residents is item #7, Amending Sections within Chapter 28 of the Madison General Ordinances to implement the new Transit Oriented Development (“TOD”) Overlay District. As the name suggests, this proposal encourages development along our high frequency transit corridors where we are best able to support additional density while limiting the amount of additional traffic and parking pressures that often come along with more people. I am a cosponsor of the proposal and strongly support taking this action in order to accommodate our city’s growth in a manner that is sustainable and that doesn’t encourage sprawl.
