A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Dedicated City Employees

As the Alder of District 17, I want to start by saying that I understand how you can be frustrated by the current conditions of our streets. I drive from the far east side to my office on the square a few times a week so I’m well aware of what they look like. However, I drove about 20-25 mph and have been leaving my apartment much earlier than normal to give myself enough time so I don’t have to rush.
We (Alders) have gotten regular communications from City staff about plowing and snow removal. There are also regular communications posted here for the general public to stay informed.
City employees put in a great deal of work regarding winter storms and I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated city employees and their round-the-clock efforts have not gone unnoticed.
Beyond the challenges posed by winter, our city employees consistently contribute to the maintenance and improvement of Madison throughout the year. The repair of our streets and the diligent work of those responsible for picking up trash are essential components of the seamless functioning of our city.
While winter storms may bring unique obstacles, the dedication of our city employees is exemplified in every season. Their commitment to maintaining Madison's infrastructure and keeping our neighborhoods clean is truly commendable.
To every individual who plays a role in the tireless efforts to enhance our city's livability, I want you to know that your hard work does not go unnoticed. Your dedication contributes significantly to the well-being and vibrancy of Madison.
As we navigate the remainder of winter and look forward to the warmer months, let us continue to appreciate and support the remarkable efforts of our city employees. Their commitment to service is the backbone of our community, and for that, I am truly thankful.
