Constituent 101, Alder Meet & Greet, Operation Giving Hope, and Meeting and Event Highlights for the Week of September 1, 2025
postedHello,

I’m excited to introduce Constituent 101 with Alder Madison — a new series of short videos where I’ll share some of the same information you usually find here on my blog, but in a quick, easy-to-watch format. Whether you prefer TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube, you’ll be able to catch updates about District 17, city government in general, and my work as your Alder in the way that works best for you.
I often meet folks across the city who tell me they learned something about the city by following me on social media. I especially hear from residents who learn about city related events from a post I may have reshared on my social media pages. So I look forward to hearing more from residents over the coming months about how you may have found some useful information on one of these platforms. Please note that you can always send your questions by email to: district17@cityofmadison.com .
From Council to Community: Meet Your Eastside and Northside Alders
The City of Madison Common Council and Madison College are excited to invite residents to a meet and greet titled “From Council to Community: Meet Your Eastside and Northside Alders!” This event is a fantastic opportunity to connect with your Eastside and Northside alders and gain insight into their experiences as members of the Common Council. Join us at Truax Campus of Madison College on Wednesday, September 3, 6-8 p.m.
We invite all residents of Madison to join us for this event! Please register in advance to help us estimate the number of attendees. You can register using the following link: www.cityofmadison.com/meetandgreetSept3. Light refreshments will be provided, and the event is free and open to the public.

Many thanks to the organizers of Operation Giving Hope

Families and individuals who could benefit from additional resources joined us for this year’s Operation Giving Hope Mobile Service Fair, and it was a wonderful success. Thanks to the many organizations who came together, families and individuals were able to access school registration support, childcare resources, housing and benefits information, youth and young adult outreach services, health education, and legal guidance. Children received backpacks, shoes, clothes, and toys, while parents connected with resources ranging from diapers and baby supplies to personal care items and community safety support. It was also great that transportation was provided, ensuring families and individuals from the nearby motels/hotels could easily attend and benefit from the event. I are grateful to all who contributed to making sure families had what they needed to head into the season with dignity, care, and connection.
