District 19 2026 Street Chip Sealing

Chip Sealing Program

City Engineering proposes to chip seal streets in District 19 this year. Engineering added chip sealing to curb and gutter streets in 2006 as an annual program to enhance preventative maintenance.

Chip sealing is an important part of the City of Madison's Pavement Management Program. The City and its residents receive at least five benefits from the program:

• Saves the City of Madison and its residents millions of dollars in pavement maintenance costs
• Waterproofs the streets
• Protects the underlying pavement from oxidation, aging and traffic wear
• Seals small cracks and imperfections
• Extends the serviceable life of the streets

Attached is a link to the city’s web site with information regarding the 2025 Chip sealing program.  Engineering will update this link with 2026 information once they finalize the list. 

District 19 Tentative Chip Sealing Streets List

As conveyed by the draft map below, the majority of District 19 streets will be chip sealed in 2026.
