Highlights for the Week of February 20, 2023

February 19, 2023 1:44 PM

SPRING PRIMARY IS TUESDAY -- ELECTION INFO

  • 2023 Spring Primary Election - Several offices on the ballot this spring require a primary election on Feb. 21. District 19 has two candidates running for Alder, so there won't be a Feb. 21 primary for that election, but there will be for in the Mayoral and State Supreme Court elections. The Council website allows you to find out which Aldermanic district you live in.  If you live in Aldermanic districts 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 12, 14, or 20, you will see the primary races for your district on your ballot.

  • Media Kit Available for 2023 Spring Primary: The 2023 Spring Primary Media Kit prepared by the Madison City Clerk's Office is now available to help answer questions about statistics, processes and procedures for the upcoming primary election.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD!

The City of Madison Adult School Crossing Guard program is recruiting in our neighborhood. Specifically, they are looking for a permanent guard to staff the corner of Gammon Road/Tree Lane for the remainder of the school year and beyond. This location serves students attending Muir Elementary and Jefferson Middle School. As a Crossing Guard, you will help safeguard students on their way to and from school, morning and afternoon. UW Health's planned expansion at 750 University Row

Please join me for a virtual neighborhood meeting on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 6:00pm, where we will hear about UW Health's planned expansion at 750 University Row. The expansion will add up to 180,000 square feet onto the UW Health Digestive Health Center building. The project will occur immediately south of the existing building and will replace the present surface parking lot with a building and structured parking. The proposed expansion would be a major alteration to the PD (GDP-SIP) zoning for University Crossing, which will be reviewed by Urban Design Commission (UDC), Plan Commission, and Common Council.

You can join the virtual meeting using your computer, smartphone, or tablet, or you can listen in via telephone. You will receive login information after registering at www.cityofmadison.com/MeetingFebruary27UniversityRow
