Week of August 7 Meetings of Possible Interest to District 2

The week of August 7 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Finance Committee, a Neighborhood Meeting re: The Edgewater's application for an Entertainment License, and a Neighborhood Informational Meeting about E Gilman, N Pinckney, N Butler St Reconstruction in 2018. The city meeting agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in.  I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particular interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda.  If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

Approving the roadway geometry for East Johnson Street from Baldwin Street to First Street (2nd and 12th AD), authorizing to execute an Amendment to the contract with the design consultant, and Amending the 2017 Engineering Major Streets Capital Budget to transfer $140,000 of GO Borrowing from the McKee Road (CTH PD) Improvements project to the East Johnson Street: Baldwin to 1st Street project.

Authorizing the City of Madison to enter into a sole source purchase of services contract with CORRE, Inc. for relocation assistance and property management services for the tenants and improvements remaining on land purchased for the expansion of Central Park, located at 202 S. Baldwin Street, 212 S. Baldwin Street, and 1130 E. Wilson Street.

Neighborhood Meeting re: The Edgewater's Application for an Entertainment License

Please join me and Amy Supple of The Edgewater for a meeting where we will hear about The Edgewater's application for an entertainment license. The proposed venue will include the public plaza located at the end of Wisconsin Ave, in front of The Edgewater.  Events are proposed to include live musical (individual, band and DJ) performances. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. You will also have an opportunity to see their facilities.

E Gilman, N Pinckney, N Butler St Reconstruction in 2018 - Neighborhood Informational Meeting

The City of Madison is proposing to reconstruct E Gilman (from Wisconsin to N Butler); N Butler (from E Gilman to E Gorham) and N Pinckney (from E Gilman to E Gorham) in 2018.  Also proposed is the replacement of the water main & laterals, sanitary sewer main & laterals, and storm sewer.  Pedestrian lighting will also be installed. Drive aprons and portions of the sidewalk will also be replaced.

The meeting will include representatives from the City and Alder Zellers.  Residents will have an opportunity to view the proposal and provide comments.
