"STORM UPDATE “

 MGE Responding to Storm-Related Outages: Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) crews are responding to the powerful storm that came through the Madison area yesterday afternoon. The extreme winds during the storm caused widespread damage and power outages across the Madison area, impacting more than 14,000 customers. Damage includes broken poles, downed trees and downed power lines. There are approximately 170 separate outage incidents. Our damage assessment efforts are ongoing, and we will continue working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. At this time, we expect that this will be a multi-day restoration effort.
